I became a tutor for one simple reason: I was, as a child, unable to learn by conventional methods. My problem wasn't a lack of intelligence, but simply that the way material was presented in class didn't work for me. Working with tutors, who were able to present the material in different ways, did. I consider it not just a job, but my mission, to ensure that no child I work with feels inferior or isolated because he or she learns or processes differently than others. I want every student to know that he or she has the capacity to succeed, and to understand that "different" does not mean "wrong" or "defective." I work with students in Reading, Writing, Phonics, Literature, Grammar, English, Technology, and Computer Science. I can also assist with study skills and organization. When I'm not working with kids, I enjoy reading, writing, dancing, singing, crafting, and music.
