I became interested in teaching when i first started taking organic chemistry courses. I found the courses to be very interesting and enjoyable but several of my classmates did not share my enthusiasm. I began tutoring friends of mine as a favor and I found that I really enjoyed helping them succeed where they did not think they would at first. I am taking a gap year before medical school and i would love to be able to share my knowledge during that time. I specialize in MCAT preparation and sciences including everything from chemistry to microbiology to physics. I am very skilled at finding where each students gap in understanding is and I am able to show them how to correct their method to achieve success. I apply this methodology of finding gaps in understanding and bringing specific examples to address these gaps during each session. I am a firm believer in this method because it allowed me to perform very highly on the MCAT while i was working over twenty hours a week and taking a full course load of upper level sciences. For this reason I do not charge if a student does not feel that the tutoring session was effective. I have scored very well in all of my science courses and i will help students find what learning style is most effective for them to optimize their performance. I am happy to provide practice problems and to help students increase their scores on their own. I scored a 30 on the MCAT while studying under very limited time constraints. I developed a method of studying that proved to be very predictable in terms of how fast my score increased. I will help students find success and show where they can most effectively concentrate their efforts to ensure that their scores increase at the fastest rate possible.
