Because I love helping students learning and seeing them reach that "aha!" moment when it all clicks, I have worked as a tutor for many years. I have volunteered at tutoring programs, and also I worked with children of all ages at an after school program which provided tutoring services, mentor programs, and activities specifically focused on STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). In college, I excelled in science, especially biology and chemistry. I minored in physiology, which is a science heavy program. Ethnic studies, the program in which I hold a degree, focuses on reading, critical thinking, and analytical writing. I have travelled extensively in Latin America and speak very proficient Spanish, as well as having a firm grasp on the grammar and structure of the language.
