I have a Masters degree and a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Applied Mathematics from Florida State University and have taught each of the courses algebra, pre-calculus, trigonometry, calculus 1-3 at least 30 times during my teaching career and have tutored many high school and college students in the past. I believe that I have good ability to put difficult and challenging concepts into easy to understand language. I provide tutoring for high school and college courses in the subjects listed above, as well as geometry, finite mathematics, statistics and differential equations. I also provide private one-on-one tutoring for FLVS students or home-schooled students in any of the courses listed above. I am currently a mathematics professor at Jacksonville University. During the past several years, I have taught the courses Basic Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Pre-calculus, Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Calculus 3 and Differential Equations. I live near UNF and I generally tutor at one of the two public library locations Pablo Creek Regional Library (13295 Beach Blvd) or Southeast Regional Library (10599 Deerwood Park Blvd). I can also meet and tutor UNF students on campus at the UNF library. I generally charge $50-60 per hour of tutoring most courses ( including standardized test preparation) and honestly my first hour of tutoring is free if you don't feel that you have been sufficiently helped by my tutoring. I am patient and will make certain that you have a good understanding of the concepts and the steps involved in solving mathematics problems.
