Experience

I am a college instructor, and have instructed and tutored students for 7 years. I have tutored in a variety of different courses, Math, English, Statistics, Accounting, Tax, Computer Skills, Business Courses, etc. I also have a total of 4 years tutoring children from 1st through the 12th Grade, this was done Pro Bono. My Passion and purpose is teaching, tutoring and helping others achieve their goals academically, and personally. My goal as a tutor is to help students incorporate or improve critical thinking skills and effective problem solving strategies; I also use memorization, and formulas to help students comprehend and retain the information. In my teaching style I incorporate visual, auditory and kinesthetic elements into every lesson because students differ in the manner by which they comprehend information and learn. Conducting assessments is another important tool for determining the student's needs as well as for determining their progress and thereby guiding instruction. I also get a kick out of seeing their faces when the light finally comes on.
