I presently live in Manhattan, Kansas, and am attending Kansas State University to obtain a Ph.D. I earned a bachelor's degree in Geography Education and English Literature at Harbin Normal University in China. In 2008, I obtained a certification to become a Mandarin Chinese Language Proficiency Tester. My primary subject for tutoring is Mandarin Chinese. However, I also tutor geography, social studies, math, and test preparation. Whether it is for the use of historical, cultural, political, or commercial needs, I create a curriculum for tutoring Mandarin based on the individual goals of each student. I also incorporate various teaching methods into my curriculum, including a more traditional hands-on approach paired with online instruction. From my experience, this helps ensure optimal results. I truly enjoy sharing the knowledge I have obtained through my own education and life experiences with my students as I see them learn and grow. When it comes to tutoring students in geography, building up their self-confidence is one of my main priorities. My goal is to offer a unique method to learn and remember the subject. When I have free time, I like to read, travel, cook, bake, sing, dance, run, and travel.
