As a lifelong learner, I believe that learning continues outside the classroom and education can happen anywhere. I have almost twenty years of experience working with a variety of students and subjects. Over the years, I have worked with students in many situations and of many ages, including at-risk youth, juvenile offenders, English language learners, elementary students, and summer school students. In all the situations, I was able to help the students to achieve success in their learning. In addition, I had the privilege of spending one year volunteering with AmeriCorps as a literacy tutor and a co-manager of their homework center that provided after school help. I focus on tutoring a variety of topics within the subjects of language arts, public speaking, study skills, and social studies. I earned a Political Science and Government Bachelor of Science, with minors in French and Philosophy from Santa Clara University. I also earned a Juris Doctorate and passed the bar exam in New York. I worked in litigation before relocating and focusing my work on the nonprofit sector. During my free time, I enjoy art, cooking, dancing, gardening, reading, and traveling. I also like to spend time with my pets and relaxing with yoga.
